President Moon Jae-in and Colombian President Ivan Duque Marquez in their summit at Cheong Wa Dae on Aug. 25 agreed on the comprehensive expansion and development of bilateral cooperation in the post-pandemic era.
Since Korea hosted this year's P4G (Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030) Summit and Colombia will host it next year, both leaders agreed on joint efforts for responding to climate change. 

After their talks, they adopted a joint statement on their vision for the development of a new bilateral relationship. The statement featured the two leaders' decision to exercise and strengthen their bilateral free trade agreement, which took effect in 2016, for recovery of the economy and society after the pandemic.

President Moon Jae-in on Aug. 17 held summit talks with Kazak President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on expanding their strategic partnership and boosting bilateral cooperation.

Both sides reviewed the results of bilateral cooperation projects carried out since their 2019 summit, and discussed further development of ties ahead of next year, which marks the 30th anniversary of relations, and improvement of practical cooperation.
The two presidents adopted a joint statement on expanding their strategic partnership that contains the commitments of Seoul and Almaty to boost their partnership, practical ties, and cooperation between Korea and Central Asia.

President Moon Jae-in and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte on July 7 agreed in a virtual summit on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations to strengthen bilateral ties.

The two leaders exchanged a wide range of opinions on enhancing relations, the security situation on the Korean Peninsula and in the region, practical cooperation and global issues.
In a joint news statement, they stressed harnessing the respective strengths of each country in innovative industries to play a leading role in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

President Moon Jae-in, on a state visit to Spain, on June 16 adopted a joint statement with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez after their summit at the latter’s official residence of Moncloa Palace in Madrid on upgrading the level of bilateral relations to a "strategic partnership."

Both sides also agreed to raise cooperation in six fields in line with the upgrade in bilateral ties: politics and diplomacy; global and multilateral affairs; international peace and security; economy; science, technology and innovation; and culture, education, sports and people-to-people exchanges.

In their joint statement, Seoul and Madrid reaffirmed their intent to achieve the complete denuclearization of and a permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula via diplomacy and talks.

President Moon Jae-in and Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen on June 14 held a summit at the latter's official residence, the Hofburg, in Vienna.
Both leaders agreed to continue bilateral cooperation in science and technology and future high-tech industries to combine Austria's high levels of science and technology with Korea's world-class know-how in commercialization and industrialization to produce mutually beneficial results.


On responding to climate change, they discussed solutions to pressing international challenges and agreed on close cooperation to achieve a carbon neutral vision.

President Moon Jae-in on May 21 held his first face-to-face summit with U.S. President Joe Biden at the White House on measures to bolster the bilateral alliance and business cooperation, as well as to promote denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and collaborate on COVID-19 vaccines. The two leaders highly valued their mutually beneficial partnership of economic cooperation and pledged to further strengthen cooperation in a variety of sectors such as the supply chain, science and cutting-edge technology, health and vaccines, development cooperation and nuclear energy.

President Moon Jae-in and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Dec. 24 held a summit on the sidelines of the 8th Korea-Japan-China Summit in Chengdu, China.

Exchanging opinions on the recent grave situation on the Korean Peninsula, the two leaders stressed the importance of close coordination and communication between Korea and Japan and among Korea, the United States and Japan.

President Moon Jae-in on Dec. 24 held a trilateral summit with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in the Chinese city of Chengdu.

The three leaders reconfirmed the importance of their trilateral cooperation over the past 20 years and adopted a new vision for such collaboration over the next decade.

President Moon Jae-in on Dec. 23 held bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People after arriving in Beijing, then moved to Chengdu to attend Korea's eighth trilateral summit with China and Japan.  

Both leaders reaffirmed the intent of both sides to cooperate for peace on the Korean Peninsula.

President Moon Jae-in on Nov. 28 hosted a bilateral summit at Cheong Wa Dae with Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, who visited Korea to attend the 2019 ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations)-Republic of Korea (ROK) Commemorative Summit.
Both leaders agreed to raise the synergy effect of Korea's New Southern Policy and Malaysia's Look East Policy. To mark the 60th anniversary of bilateral relations next year, they also decided to elevate their relationship to the level of a "strategic partnership."
